FOUR STARS - The Anomoibuds IP010 Plus is a battery beast. It has a large battery, supports wireless charging and also functions as a power bank. But how does it sound?

Specs of the Anomoibuds IP010 Plus:

  • Bluetooth 5.0 with AAC codec

  • IPX7 water proof (sweat and heavy rain resistant)

  • 5 hours listening on a full charge

  • Charging case can charge earpieces fully 10 times

  • Comes with 3 sizes ear tips and USB-C cable

  • $30 on AliExpress or Amazon US/ Europe/ UK - check current price!

Design, charging and comfort

The Anomoibuds IP010 Plus takes its name seriously. Whereas the Anomoibuds Capsule with the same type number still has one of the tiniest charging cases on the market, the Plus is one of the biggest. The 2600mAh deck is 8,5 by 5 by 3 centimeters, and it's relatively heavy too.

You can charge it via a USB-C cable or wireless charging, and with a delivered cable tip, you can even use it as a power bank — a neat feature. You can follow the battery status of the case by four LED-lights.

The best thing about the big battery case, however, is that it's capable of recharging the earphones ten times, providing the earpieces 5 hours of playtime each charge. Certainly decent specs for this price - it's just that the big design prevents the charger from being very portable.

The earpieces itself are round on the outside. The inside, however, has a comfortable pebble-like design. It makes for a tight fit without being too intrusive in your ear.

Connectivity and controls

You control the earpieces with touch buttons in the center. A single tap plays or pauses the music, with a double-tap on the right one you skip a song. Returning a song is done by touching the left bud two times. A long press on either one activates the voice assistant on your phone. Unfortunately, it's not possible to change the volume on the earpieces - but the controls are straightforward. Just give them a second for your input to take effect.

The Bluetooth 5.0 connection of the Anomoibuds IP010 Plus is good. It holds steady up to ten meters from your device, even in areas crowded with wireless signals.

Calling and watching movies on TrueCapsule

The Anomoibuds Capsule IP010 is one of the few models that mastered near-perfect video synchronization on the iPhone. Unfortunately, the IP010 Plus doesn't offer the same quality. Audio is a bit out of sync with videos on the YouTube app on the iPhone, although it works fine on services like Netflix and Amazon Prime. There isn't a noticeable delay when watching videos on Android, happily.

The call quality of the Anomoibuds IP010 Capsule is mediocre, and relatively good compared to other round-shaped true wireless earbuds in this price range. Usually, the microphone is a bit too far away to sound clear. Here, you may seem like you're in a bathroom when calling, but at least you're audible when you're indoors and outdoor.

All in all: decent scores for this price.

Sound quality of ANomoibuds IP010 Plus: engaging

When it comes to sound quality, there are more differences between the Anomoibuds Capsule IP010 and the Anomoibuds IP010 Plus. The sound is a lot brighter than on the Capsule, which sounds relatively balanced between the lows, mids, and highs.

The Plus instead, has an emphasis on the upper mid-tones and the highs. Male and especially female vocals sound forward and up close, as do instruments like guitars, xylophones, and other light sounds. While watching videos, it means the IP010 Plus is relatively vocal-oriented and sounds quite bright.

The bass still plays an engaging role in more bass heavier songs though. That's where the bass is capable of a sweet punch, one that may even make you move your feet. The sub-bass doesn't dive very deep, and neither does the bass sound overwhelming, but it's definitely engaging. It's there when it needs to be in more modern genres like dance and hiphop. It does require a good fit and some twisting of the earpieces to get the most out of it though - just like the QCY QS2 and the Wavefun X-Pods 3 for example.

Compared to the Capsule, the Anomoibuds IP010 Plus sounds more opened up. Less balanced, but with just as much sense of airiness - and even more emphasis on the highs and the bass. It's a bit more engaging.

Verdict

If you're up for a big charging case, you're treated with an engaging sound, decent calling quality, good battery life, and wireless charging. The Anomoibuds IP010 Plus is an excellent sum of its parts.

Four STARS - Very good
