The DFOI AirBuds are also available as M72C TWS. They're also branded as Caxinthy C2 TWS, Whiteswan M72C, Giaride M72C, iKurl M72C and many more. Therefore, this is also review for all other M72C TWS models.
Design, charging and comfort
The DFOI have one of the biggest charging cases on the market, yet it's only capable of charging the earpieces fully for three times. The case needs some force to open it. On the inside, four LED indicator lights show how much battery the case has left, if you press the button on the outside.
The earpieces of the DFOI AirBuds M72C are big as well. They have a bean-like shape with a bulb sticking out on the top, meant to stick them on the upside of your inner ear. It works quite well, for my medium sized ears that is: they maintain a steady fit. Their big size means they stick out of your ear by much though. Unfortunately, their cheap shiny plastic aren't the most beautiful buds to show to the world either. They look outdated already.
Connectivity and controls
Connectivity on the DFOI AirBuds M72C is mostly good. It can be a bit flimsy in an area with many wireless connections, but holds steady overall. Grab the earpieces out of the case and they connect and pair automatically, put them back in and they disconnect again.
Here's a surprise. The DFOI is one of the rare ultra cheap true wireless earphones with volume controls right on the earpieces. Hurrah! By pressing the right button thrice, the volume will increase, the left side decreases volume again.
So far so good. The other controls are a bit of a mess though. A single press plays/ pauses/ takes a call, pressing two times redials the last number. A longer press on the right earpiece activates your voice assistant, pressing it even longer until after you hear a beep though, skips to the next song. You may need some time to get used to it, but it's great there are volume controls where you need them.
Calling and watching movies
Video playback is without problems on Android, audio and video aren't in sync on iPhone though. Watching a pair of lips on the YouTube app and you'll always see they are out of sync with what you hear.
Another surprise is the call quality of the AirBuds. Recipients sound crystal clear, and due to the earpiece sticking out so much, you yourself sound clear to the other end of the line as well.
Sound: All about the bass

The DFOI AirBuds M72C offers the sound signature of many cheap wired earphones from China. It's all about the bass on these. It pumps in your ear on almost all songs, and reaches to Beats-like levels on songs that are already tuned towards the bass, such as hip hop.
The bass of the DFOI 'bleeds' into the mid tones, creating an overly warm, even dark sound. Because the mid tones (such as regular acoustic instruments) aren't pushed forward and highs are rolled off, there's little detail to be enjoyed in vocals and instruments here. On the down side, vocals will practically never sound gripping on the AirBuds. On the plus side, it makes for a smooth sound.
Its sound signature makes the DFOI AirBuds especially suitable for sports, like the Tronsmart Encore Spunky Buds for example. A pumping bass always helps for that cause. For other purposes, there are many better sounding options on the market.
Verdict
The DFOI looks outdated, with its big earpieces sticking far out of your ear. Bass lovers may still consider them though. They connect well, pair good and even offer a surprising good call quality.
