TWS true wireless earphones - $25 - $50
Popular or noteworthy enough to be tested, but not special enough to get a separate review. Those are the wireless earbuds that enter the TWS review shorts on Scarbir.com. Here are quick reviews on the Edifier X6, Dizo Buds Z and Ugreen HiTune T3.
Some wireless earphones don't get their own extensive review, but are still interesting enough to be mentioned. From now on, these will be a part of the ‘TWS review shorts’ on Scarbir.com. How do these three earbuds stack up to the insane competition?
Edifier X6 review: Cheap, yet great for calls
short review because: Product released a while ago
DESIGN AND FEATURES: Compact and light charging case made of cheap plastic; bulky-looking but comfortable earbuds that stay snugly in medium-sized ears. Up to 6 hours of playtime on a single charge is a solid score for AirPods-like designs. Also IP54 rain, sweat, and dust proof. (4 out of 5)
CONTROLS: Play/pause music and activate the voice assistant. That's it - too limited. They do respond well. (2 out of 5)
CALLS AND GAMES: Passes through your voice loud and clear, while background noise and chatter is kept on the background. Wonderful clarity - excellent for calls. Flawless video playback, only a slight delay in sound effects when playing games. Good spatial feedback too, so you can easily detect shots and other sounds around you. (5 out of 5)
SOUND QUALITY: Slightly treble-focused, with convincing clarity in vocals and other higher freqeuncies. Solid presentation of center-mid tones like guitars and piano play. Bass and lower-mids are represented well on higher volumes or in songs that push them actively, but get dragged away by wind noise soon. Finely balanced overall, with a good sense of space in the sound. (4 out of 5)
The Edifier X6 are cheap AirPods-like earbuds with convincing battery life and great call quality.

Ugreen HiTune T3 review: Dirt-cheap ANC earbuds with boomy bass
short review because: Nothing special
DESIGN AND FEATURES: Generic looking black plastic charging case and earbuds. Comfortable in-ear pieces due to their oval shape, and the stem is short enough to make it look decent. Slightly below average battery life for ANC earbuds: up to 4 hours with ANC on; 7 hours with the function off. Sports proof, though, thanks to their IPX5 rain- and sweat-proof rating. (4/5)
CONTROLS: Play/pause (single tap), skip and return a track (double-taps), activate the voice assistant (hold left) and switch between ANC on/ Transparency mode and ANC off (hold right). Don't hold long enough? You'll just pause your music. No option to change the volume sadly, but once you're used to the control scheme, it works conveniently. (4/5)
CALLS AND GAMES: Outdated performance, with audio and video not in sync when you're watching videos - for instance in the YouTube app. A very noticeable delay in sound effects when you're playing games, too. Average call quality; your metallic voice starts to get wonky when there is noise around you. (2/5)
ANC: Active noise cancelling can completely diminish background sounds, but is less succesful in reducing nearby, lighter, or irregular sounds. Surprisingly solid Transparency mode that lets you locate traffic around you on moments you need it, even when you're playing music. Both modes do let in a lot of wind noise. (3.5/5)
SOUND QUALITY: Boomy bass. Quantity, not quality - and it only gets heavier with the ANC mode activated. Vocals and upper mid-tones are prominent enough to stand against the bass (without becoming too sharp), but nuances and mid-tones drown a little in between, resulting in a dark, mostly just bassy sound. (3.5/5)
The best feature about these ANC earbuds? Their price under 40 dollars. It's worth saving a bit extra for a pair of better ANC earbuds.

Dizo Buds Z review: New kid on the block doesn't do anything new
short review because: Nothing special
DESIGN AND FEATURES: Dizo? Yes, yet another subbrand of Oppo and Realme. The Buds Z case looks like a flat egg in matte white, while its short stems have a glossy, taste-dependent finish. Its oval earpieces are light, comfortable, and fit snugly in medium-sized ears. IPX4 slashproof, but sadly, 4 is also the number of hours playtime before you need to recharge the earbuds. Below average. (3 stars)
CONTROLS: Play/pause (double-tap), activate gaming mode (hold both earbuds) skip to the next song (triple tap) and... that's it on iPhone. With the Realme Link app support on Android, you can add more controls by also using single-sided hold commands - but changing volume isn't one of them. Hysterical connection sounds, otherwise good connectivity. (3 stars)
CALLS AND GAMES: Flawless video playback, and a gaming mode to speed up the synchronization of sound effects in games - to great effect. Though it can be hard to locate footsteps or shots around you, these are solid earbuds for gaming. Not as great for calls: while sounds around you are reduced fairly in calls, your voice output is too soft and muffled. (3.5 stars)
SOUND: Nothing special, but nothing bad either. A hefty, inprecise mid-bass thumps under forward vocals and upper mid-tones, with enough lower-mid presence to give a bit of warmth and retain balance in the music. Sound is more detailed on iPhone (thanks, AAC codec) than on Android - but Android users get a Bass or Bright equalizer settings from the app, which emphasize either bass or treble - but don't really lift music to a higher plan. (4 stars)
In this competitive market, the $40 price is too steep for these good sounding, bot otherwise average performing Dizo Buds Z.
